doctoral/PhD student at Department of Physics and Astronomy, Materials Theory
I started my PhD studies at the end of 2010, under supervision of Dr. Jan Rusz. The main focus of my research is calculations of electronic and optical properties using density functional theory, aimed at free nanoparticles (pure and core-shell) and complex systems – nanoparticles in host matrix, as well as calculations of band gaps and exciton lifetimes. Also, I have focused on investigating the influence of impurities and defects in different systems on the electronic and optical properties.
