I am employed 25% as a researcher at the Hugo Valentin Centre (HVC) and 75% at the National Archives of Sweden (but at present off duty).
On HVC I work with the Swedish-Jewish history in general, but especially with immigration and integration of the so-called Ostjuden around 1850-1920. Much of my research has been devoted to anti-Semitic discrimination in connection with citizenship applications from 1860 to 1945. In addition to my own research I’m teaching at the undergraduate course “The history of the Jews in Sweden”. I’m also responsible for HVC's higher seminar series and I’m the coordinator of the international research network "The Jews in Sweden - a minority story". I am also a member of the board of the “Forum for Jewish Studies”, Faculty of Theology, Uppsala University.
The interaction with the society is important and I’m for instance engaged in the Jewish Museum in Stockholm and regular expert in the television program "Who do you think you are?"
