Biography

My research interest is telephone nursing, particularly paediatrics. My thesis 'Telephone Nursing. Stakeholder views and understandings from a paediatric and a gender perspective' contains four empirical studies: the different ways work can be understood by telenurses (Study I), content and outcome of paediatric health calls (Study II), parents’ expectations and experiences of calling Swedish Healthcare Direct (SHD) regarding paediatric health issues (Study III) and finally, what SHD operation managers perceive as the primary goals of telephone nursing work and how they view health promotion and equitable healthcare implementation at SHD (Study IV). After the defence of my thesis, I will contimue with research on telephone nursing.

I teach paediatric telephone nursing and self-care at ‘Telephone advisory courses for registered nurses’ and ’Specialist courses in midwifery and district nursing’. I also supervise student essays at the Nursing program and teach Qualitative methods and Article reviews at the Master degree Program in Public Health. All the courses are held at Uppsala University.
