My courses

Currently I am working with Prof. Máté Erdélyi on the discovery of β-lactamase inhibitors (BLIs). By protecting β-lactam antibiotics from inactivation by β-lactamase enzymes, BLIs are enabling a continued use of these pharmaceuticals to treat infections caused by β-lactamase producing bacteria. Since 2019 I am also establishing my independent research program on fluorescent probes for applications in the life sciences. The aim of the program is to provide new tools for labeling and transformation of bioactive molecules, and to allow for studies of their distribution in cells, interactions with target biomolecules, and molecular organization, for example, using fluorescence-based techniques.

I am looking for a highly motivated master student in organic chemistry to perform an internship or master thesis project starting in August 2020. For more information about the project and the application process, please have a look at https://graduateland.com/project/34833584.
