Research interests: the peasant society, resource distribution, geographical and social mobility, household structure, and labour.
My doctoral thesis, Distribution and Differences, is a study of the peasants living in a mid-Swedish parish in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Starting from the economic differences displayed in for example a tax lists, the study relates the fact of peasant stratification to a broader system of resource reproduction.
After my dissertation, I have done research about the landless and semi-landless of early modern Sweden. The project was funded by the Swedish research council. I am currently engaged in the Gender and Work project.
