Jacob Hileman is a researcher within the Centre of Natural Hazards and Disaster Science (CNDS) at Uppsala University. His research interests are broadly centered on how human society shapes, and is shaped by, the natural world. Core themes of his research include environmental governance, stakeholder analysis, social-ecological systems, network analysis, natural hazards, and expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure.

Jacob Hileman received his Ph.D. in Hydrologic Sciences at the University of California, Davis in 2016. Before joining Uppsala University, he spent four years as a researcher at the Stockholm Resilience Centre at Stockholm University.
