With a MA & BA in Archaeology in South Africa (Universiy of the Witwatersrand) with experience on surveying, mapping, recording and excavating sites with rock paintings, ceramics and micro lithic stone tools using archaeological, historical, anthropological and geological insights for the analysis and interpretation of prehistoric data in Mozambique.

Biography

Décio Muianga is a Mozambican archaeologist with 10 years of experience. He has worked as team coordinator and researcher for archaeology and cultural and heritage impact assessments and elaborated heritage management plans in Mozambique, South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe. He has also been involved in the dissemination of cultural heritage, mounting archaeological exhibition in Museums, tour guiding of Museum and archaeological sites. He is fully acquainted with the preparation of tender documents and bid evaluation processes for archaeological and heritages sites in Southern Africa.

He gained extensive knowledge of surveying, mapping, recording and excavating sites with rock paintings, ceramics and micro lithic stone tools while completing his master's research project, using archaeological, historical, anthropological, physics and chemistry for the analysis and interpretation of the prehistoric data.
