Ernils Larsson is a PhD candidate in history of religions at the Faculty of Theology. In his thesis work he explores how various discourses on what is to be considered "religion" are negotitated in Japanse courts. His primary interest is how discourses on Shinto as something other than religion tie in to the ideologies of contemporary Japanese nationalism.
