Emily is currently a Ph.D. candidate in public international law and environmental law at the Faculty of Law, Uppsala University in Sweden, focusing on the relationship between international investment law, specifically investor-State dispute settlement, and environmental law and policy. Other areas of interest include environmental justice, human rights, and critical legal theory.

In the U.S., Emily specialized in public interest environmental law and is licensed to practice law in New York State. She also has experience practicing disability law and is a U.S. Veterans Affairs Accredited Attorney. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, mountain biking, and hiking with her two rescue dogs.
