Short presentation

I am a bioinformatician and study pathogenesis in HIV infection. The primary loss of T cells is not caused by viral infection, but by chronic, systemic inflammation. It is therefore crucial to understand how the immune system is activated by HIV.

I study primates that carry the SIV virus without developing AIDS. I am a member of Jan Komorowski's lab on an International Postdoc grant, located at the University of Washington.

My courses

I am a bioinformatician, specialized in immunology. My main interest is using large sets of data to understand how the immune system i activated and regulated.

Currently, I am a member of Jan Komorowski's lab, located at the University of Washington in Seattle. This lab is led by Michael Katze and uses genomic methods to understand various viral infections, including HIV, influenza, SARS, Dengue and Ebola.

My research training started at the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg with Mikael Benson as my supervisor. Subsequently, our lab moved to Linköping University, where I graduated in 2013.
