As a researcher of English linguistics at Uppsala University, I specialize in corpus linguistics and historical sociopragmatics. My research interests include multidimensional analysis and the endeavor of defining orality across spoken and written registers, as reflected in my monograph Conversational writing (Lang, 2015) on computer chat and my co-edited volume Voices past and present (with T. Larsson, Benjamins 2020) on features of involvement/orality in historical and present-day texts. I have also published on the pragmatics of emojis and intensifying adverbs, and I am currently co-authoring a book on the sociopragmatics of intensifiers in Late Modern English courtroom discourse.
