Short presentation

My doctoral dissertation is an investigation into the register of Media Arabic. Focus lies on functional features in the context of hard news and its syntax, particularly the coding and semantics of clause linking. The corpus consists of articles from the Egyptian daily al-Ahram.

During my undergrad studies I took a particular interest in Latin paleography, medieval and Neo-Latin syntax, the language of the Greek poet Sappho and the diachronic grammaticalization of the Semitic verbal morphemes.
