10.2 Centre for Integrated Research on Culture and Society (CIRCUS)
Circus is a new platform for initiating and developing transdisciplinary research on culture and society at Uppsala University. Organisationally, Circus is placed directly under the Disciplinary Domain of Humanities and Social Sciences. Focus is initially on developing the conditions for research collaborations across the six faculties within the domain. The wider remit is to stimulate novel research through enabling new patterns for collaboration. In sum, Circus develops and maintains a program for finding new pathways for developing research.
Circus works to support new research collaborations. This include the funding of new research networks, workshops, seminars, and symposia, as well as other activities aimed to foster new research collaborations. We work both with open calls and with more tailored forms of support for initiatives within Circus' scope.
