Malin Holm is a researcher at the Department of Government, Uppsala University. Her research focuses mainly on how an increasingly digitalized public sphere affects the conditions for democratic public debates and political processes. Her PhD thesis analyzed how privileged groups can be enabled by the design and governance of online platforms in order to contest dominant public discourses. Her post doc project has an empirical focus on the 2019 parliamentary elections in Tunisia and examines how online platforms can function both as enablers and constraints for political candidates in contentious elections.
