I lead the Division of Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Uppsala University. We conduct research on light–matter interactions at the atomic level. The acquired knowledge of the electronic properties is used to develop important applications within energy and environmental science, as well as new functional materials.

My personal research interest is primarily concerned with phenomena and processes in liquids and clusters/nanoparticles studied by synchrotron radiation-based spectroscopic techniques. I study systems and problems that are relevant for three main directions:

I am coordinator for the Swedish-Brazilian research collaboration "Aqueous Interfaces: Molecular perspectives on climate change and sustainable energy".

My research has resulted In total 200+ articles in international, peer-reviewed, journals. These have been cited 4400+/3500+ times with/without self-citations (SCI), 7700+ times cited (Google Scholar). My h index is 35/44 (Web of Science/ Google Scholar).
