I am a researcher in the Chemical and Bio-molecular Physics program, where I study the photochemistry of transition metal complexes. Specifically, I'm interested in understanding how the electronic structure of photochemically prepared reaction intermediates determines their catalytic activity. To this end, I use time-resolved X-ray spectroscopy to follow in time and space how transition metal catalysts mediate the formation and breaking of chemical bonds.
