Kort presentation

Detta stycke finns inte på svenska, därför visas den engelska versionen.

I recently completed a doctorate in musicology at the University of Oxford, focusing on the phenomenon of contrafacture (the re-texting of melodies) in medieval song. I am currently working on two research projects, funded respectively by the Torsten Söderberg Foundation and Vetenskapsrådet: the first is a monograph on song in the age of Saint Louis (1226-70) and the second a study of the interplay of music, hearing, and the environment in medieval theory and practice.

Detta stycke finns inte på svenska, därför visas den engelska versionen.

Rather unusually for a musicologist, I hold degrees in the liberal arts and natural sciences (B.Arts.Sc., McMaster) and medieval studies (M.St., Oxon). This multi-disciplinary background informs much of my work, which ranges from detailed close readings to broader explorations of music's role in medieval culture.

I am also trained as a choral conductor and singer, and periodically share my performances of the songs I am researching on my videocast, Chanter m'estuet.
