I have been a doctoral student at the department for the history of science and ideas since october 2017. My research is set in late eighteenth-century France, and concerns the question of how mineral waters became objects of science. These waters grew in popularity, attracting the interest of a large network of chemists and physicians. My thesis aim to describe the role of the water expert within the wider context of Enlightenment science.
