I am interested in the dynamics of complex systems and in particular in complex social systems. My research is focused on the application of mathematical models and network analysis tools to human behavior. My main topics of interest are cultural evolution and opinion dynamics and the mathematical approaches developed to understand them. I particularly enjoy working in interdisciplinary environment and I have been so far collaborating with mathematicians, physicists, linguists, and sociologists.

I completed my PhD in Numerical Analysis at the University of Geneva under the supervision of Prof. Martin J. Gander in 2015. My PhD research focused on mathematical models of core-collapse supernovae, that is stellar explosions. I analysed a specific approximation of neutrino radiative transfer called the IDSA (Isotropic Diffusion Source Approximation).

After my PhD, I was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship (2015-2016) to develop my own research programme on language evolution at the University of Edinburgh in collaboration with Prof. Richard A. Blythe. During this period, I analysed the USM (Utterance Selection Model) for language change and proposed an extension of it to account for self-actuated changes.

Since 2017, I am employed at Uppsala University in a joined project between the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Department of Sociology. The collaboration is interested in modelling the dynamics of opinion at the individual level. We are using mathematical modelling techniques as well as network science tools to study Swedish parliamentary elections.
