Lucas is a PhD candidate at the Department of Economics. His dissertation work focuses on the economics of education, though he has an interest in labor economics and applied microeconometrics more broadly. Currently, he is working on a project that uses a high school admission reform to study whether students or teachers respond to institutional features that incentivize high grades.
