I am a human geographer with a quantitative empirical focus. My research interests concern migration, residential segregation, residential mobility, and inequality. I am currently working for a H2020 project UPLIFT - “Urban PoLicy Innovation to address inequality with and for Future generaTions” (2020-2022).

2019 PhD in Human Geography (Uppsala University). PhD thesis investigated the relationship between segregation and integration in Sweden by using Swedish longitudinal registry data and statistical modelling techniques (supervision by Prof. Roger Andersson, Prof. John Östh, and Anneli Kährik). Thesis title: Moving out, moving up, becoming employed: Studies in the residential segregation and social integration of immigrants in Sweden.

May-June 2017 Guest Researcher at University of Amsterdam. Collaboration with geographers and sociologists from UvA, researching the effects of residing in ethnic enclaves on employment for immigrant population.

2012-2013 PhD studies in Human Geography and Regional Planning in the Centre for Migration and Urban Studies, University of Tartu. Project title: Transformation of post-socialist inner cities from socialism to market economy: changes in the socio-spatial structure.

2012 MSc in Human Geography and Regional Planning (University of Tartu, cum laude). Thesis title: Residential location decision-making among younger households as the cause of changes in the inner city: the case of Tartu.

2011 One semester at Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen in Germany (during MSc studies).

2009 BSc in Human Geography (Thesis title: Changes in Tartu inner city older housing and residential structure in the period of 1998-2008).
