  • Language contact and mixture in Scandinavia in the Middle Ages.

  • Textual scholarship, material philology and electronic text editing of manuscripts and early books.

  • Historical linguistics and dialectology (mainland Scandinavia)

  • Medieval sermons and preaching.

  • Medieval concepts of ethnic identity and Otherness.

  • Muslim-Jewish-Christian relations in the Middle Ages.

  • Jonathan Adams, The Poet of Mauriceville: Lars Andersen Schow — a biography of the nineteenth-century Danish immigrant to New Zealand and an edition of his works: memoirs, poems, songs, short stories, and political and religious writings.

  • Jonathan Adams, Events in the Life of Phillip Tapsell, the Old Dane — an edition of the reminiscences of the nineteenth-century Danish whaler, trader, and Pākehā-Māori Phillip Tapsell (1790–1873).
