Project 1: Organizational Responses toward Evaluation

Evaluation has a long tradition within organizational theory as a methodological and empirical concept. Meanwhile, much research tends to focus on how evaluation is carried out, few scholars have theorized about the organizational responses being subject for an evaluation.

In my thesis I approach evaluation as a particular social processes central to how people process information and make sense of the world and investigate how evaluations give rise for structuring effects within organizations. These structuring effects are an important mechanism shaping various organizational phenomena such as organizational identity, status and how competition is perceived among people. My future work will focus on the relationship between evaluation and competition, mainly through comparative cases and experimental studies.

Project 2: What Competition Brings: New Understandings and Theories about Competition

Competition is a core concept in economic sciences, yet it is poorly theorized and understood. Within the project, we aim at building a robust theorization of competition across the business administration disciplines, and study some of its expressions and forms across different social settings.
