Biografi
Jag deltar i en rad olika forskningsprojekt i samarbete med flertalet institutioner.
Den experimentella forskningen är framför allt inriktad att utveckla nya material och metoder för att stimulera bennybildning i skallbensdefekter. I ett samarbete med professor Jöns Hilborn och docent Oommen Varghese på institutionen för kemi, polymerkomi, undersöker vi olika material och strategier med målet att regenerera benvävnad i defekter som uppkommit efter kirurgi.
Den kliniska forskningen handlar om skallmissbildningar, så kallad kraniosynostos, och om läpp-käk-gomspalt. Den består av forskningsprojket som belyser olika aspekter: hjärnans utveckling och funktion vid kraniosynostos; genetiska orsaker till kraniosynostos och läpp-käk-gomspalt; förändringar av skallvolym och intrakraniellt tryck efter operation av skallmissbildningar; ersättning av vätska och blod vid operation av skallmissbildningar; ögonfunktion hos barn med kraniosynostos, talet hos barn med läpp-käk-gomspalt, samt långtidsresultat efter bentransplantation till käkspalt hos barn med läpp-käk-gomspalt.
