Biography
Since 2011, I am Associate Professor at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research, Uppsala University, Sweden. My expertise lies in conflict resolution in civil wars with a particular focus on multiparty dynamics, including topics such as inclusive peace processes, rebel group fragmentation, and peacekeeping operations. My publications appear in prominent journal such as International Organization, International Studies Quarterly, and Security Studies. I am serving as Associate Editor of Journal of Peace Research and I am on the board of Conflict Management and Peace Science.
I am currently PI of a major research project on the role of civil society organizations in peace processes, funded by the Swedish Research Council, and co-investigator in a research project about mediation in civil war. Until recently, I acted as deputy leader of the Swedish node in the PAVE project under the European Union H2020 scheme.
I have held visiting fellowships at the Peace Research Institute of Oslo (PRIO), Notre Dame University, and Stanford University. Previous positions of trust include the council of the Peace Science Society (International), the steering committee of the Network for European Peace Scientists (NEPS), the Research Workshops Grants Committee of the International Studies Association, and the Review Panel for HS-E: Political Science, Peace and Conflict Research, Media and Communication, Swedish Research Council.
