Short presentation
I completed my specialty training in Neurosurgery at Uppsala University Hospital and i am a board certified neurosurgeon since May 2015. I worked as a specialist at the same clinic until September 2019. My main areas of interest are spine surgery, brain tumor surgery, Chiari malformation along with general neurosurgery, trauma and neurointensive care. Since September 2019 i work exclusively with spine surgery at the Orthopedic clinic, department of spine surgery at Uppsala University Hospital.
Biography
Born in September 1982 in Drama, Greece. Graduated from medical school of Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece. Came to Sweden February 2007 and started Swedish lessons until early September that year when i got my first job at the Rehabilitation clinic of Danderyds Hospital in Stockholm. I am married to Marialena and we currently have one dotter and expecting twin boys.
Research
My main area of research is subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) in the brain and my doctoral project concerns the inflammatory response post aneurysmal SAH in humans.
