Isa Cegrell Karlander

I am a senior lecturer specialising in refugee and administrative procedural law. In 2021, I successfully defended my dissertation. In 2023, I was a visiting professor at the Law School, U of Minnesota. Currently, my research primarily focuses on the NoRDASiL project.

In addition to my research, I also serve as the course coordinator for an upper-level course in migration law, alongside Professor Thorburn Stern. Furthermore, I teach courses in the fourth and sixth semesters of the law program.

Nordic Refugee Determination: Advancing Data Science in Migration Law (NordASIL) is a four-year project (2021-2025) funded through a 15 million NOK grant by the competitive Nordforsk Programme for Interdisciplinary Research. The project is a partnership between the University of Oslo, the University of Uppsala and the University of Copenhagen. It comprises a highly interdisciplinary research team spanning law, computer science and social medicine and draws on unique asylum data from Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
