Research

Patricia Mindus directs research projects relating to migration, citizenship policies and arbitrary law-making. She teaches Jurisprudence, Ethics, Political Theory & EU Law. Master classes include the international Master Program in Global Rule of Law and Constitutional Democracy at Genoa Law School.

As President of the Swedish section of Internationale Vereinigung für Rechts und Sozialphilosophie (IVR), she promotes research in Legal Theory in Sweden. Mindus is the convenor of the Uppsala higher seminars in Jurisprudence.

She joined the Philosophy Department at Uppsala University in 2011. Research associate at the Legal Informatics institute, Faculty of Law at Stockholm University since 2014. Previously she was research fellow and assistant professor in Political Theory at the Department of Political Studies, University of Turin (Italy).

Mindus holds a MPhil from the University of Rome III (2000) first class with distinction. Her PhD in Political Theory and EU Studies is from the University of Turin (2006). She has been a visiting scholar at EUI Law Department (2014); University of Glasgow Law Department (2013), Girona Catedra Cultura Juridica (2010) and LUISS Guido Carli (2016). In 2017 she holds the International Chair at the same university.

Recent talks include the keynote at 2015 IVR World Congress in Washington D.C. She has lectured at many institutions, incl. the universities of Stockholm, Turin, Genoa, Bologna, Milan (Bocconi), Rome (LUISS & Roma Tre), Pisa (Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna), Aarhus, Madrid (Carlos III, Law School), UCL London, Queen Mary University of London, Paris X Nanterre Centre de Théorie du Droit), CUNY (New York, Usa), McGill, Innsbruck (JM International Summer School), Université de Montréal, UNAM Law School Mexico City (IIJ), Prague Academy of Science, Glendon College University (Toronto, Canada), EUROPOL, Utrikespolitiska föreningen i Uppsala, Istituto italiano di cultura, Föreningen för filosofi och specialvetenskap. In 2015 she held the Garcia Maynez Lectures.
