Kort presentation

I have defended my PhD in May 2018, with the thesis "Bad Guys, Good Life: An Ethnography of Morality and Change in Kisekka Market (Kampala, Uganda)". The thesis explores the moral landscapes that informal workers navigate in Kampala amidst neoliberal urban change and a perceived moral crisis in private and public life.

I currently teach the course "Culture in Armed Conflict" and the Anthropology module within the "Network on Humanitarian Action" program.

Biografi

As an undergraduate, I have studied the political and cultural negotiations around the restoration of precolonial authorities in Uganda and the contemporary developments of royal court music in the Buganda kingdom.

I have taken part to research projects on cultural heritage (with Sorbonne University and the French Institut de Recherche pour le Développement and Kenya Museums, 2008-2012) and on the Ugandan General Elections under the direction of the French Institute for Research in Africa, Nairobi (2011). I have worked for the Italian Cooperation in Kampala as consultant for cultural projects (2012). I am a member of the Ethnological Mission in Equatorial Africa (University of Turin) (http://www.missioneetnologica.unito.it/)

I have defended my PhD in May 2018, with the thesis "Bad Guys, Good Life: An Ethnography of Morality and Change in Kisekka Market (Kampala, Uganda)", under the supervision of Sverker Finnström and Sten Hagberg. The thesis explores the moral landscapes that informal workers navigate in Kampala amidst neoliberal urban change and a perceived moral crisis in private and public life.

I have worked as Assistant to the Forum for Africa Studies based at the Department of Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology. I currently teach the course "Culture in Armed Conflict" and the Anthropology module within the "Network on Humanitarian Action" program, and I work as a research assistant at the Nordic Africa Institute in Uppsala.
