I am working in materials research with a focus on thin film technology and surface and near-surface science using ion beams as working tools. I am involved in application and development of different methods for investigation of complex systems including e.g. non-destructive high-resolution depth profiling (down to 1 nm) for poly- and single crystalline materials. I am also working on fundamental questions like energy loss of slow ions in solids, charge exchange and interatomic potentials.
