Forskning

Anna Danielsson's research is situated at the nexus between the fields of International Relations, Peace and Conflict Studies, International Political Economy, Social Theory, and the History and Sociology of Knowledge. It addresses questions pertaining to knowledge formation and diffusion in global politics and peacebuilding interventions, including the epistemic practices of international organisations, the politics of science, and the relations between the global order and the development of the social sciences. Anna is particularly interested in the making of 'informal economies' and the role of the social sciences and forms of expertise and knowledge in governing social life.

Anna's current project (funded by the Swedish Research Council) analyses the programming of international interventions on informal economies in conflict environments. The project examines the epistemic practices, representations and social conditions of knowledge production that make informality known and bring it into being as an object of intervention in Bosnia and Kosovo. The project combines a socio-historical analysis of the emergence of an international 'field' of informality within its scholarly, peacebuilding professional and political contexts, with a study of the knowledge forms, dispositions and practices of peacebuilders.
