My main interest lies in studying corporate influence on politics, and I am active in the research project "Subterranean Politics - The World and Work of Policy Professionals" based at the Institute for Future Studies in Stockholm.
My dissertation focused on the emergence of the Swedish market for Public Relations consultancy, a market that has become financially successful and somehow taken-for-granted, yet not legitimized. In a multi-method study, I particularly examined the linguistic processes of market legitimation and illegitimation, and the close links between public relations and politics. In 2015, the thesis received The Arnberg Prize from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, an annual award given to "fine work within the technical, economic or statistical sciences" (for specific motivation, click here). It has also earned a Distinguished Paper Award in the 2014 Edamba Thesis Competition, and a Wallander Postdoctoral Scholarship from Handelsbankens Forskningsstiftelser.
I am also an alumni of Tandem Leadership, a bilateral training program for future leaders within business, politics and academia in Sweden and Finland, and in 2015-2016, I contribute as a guest columnist to Universitetsläraren, the magazine of the Swedish Association of University Teachers. During the academic year 2015-2016, I was a Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow at Kellogg Business School, Northwestern University, Chicago, USA where I am working with Associate Professor Klaus Weber.
