My research interest lies in nanoscale spin-electronic device physics of materials prospective for information processing and energy related applications. I work on devices of two dimensional crystals such as graphene (graphene spintronics), 2D semiconductors such as MoS2, Black phosphorus, 2D insulators like h-BN and topological insulators (eg. Bi2Se3), other 2D Crystals and Nanomagnetic circuits involving domain walls.

I obtained my masters in Physics from S. N. Bose National Centre for Basics Sciences (SNB), India in 2003. With my interest to explore nanoelectronic and spintronic systems of technological interest, I started my Ph.D. on investigating the electrical transport in ferromagnetic nanowires and explored the electron-surface scattering, electron-magnon-spin disorder, electron-phonon interaction in nanowires with diameters down to 13 nm. After finishing my Ph.D. in June 2009 (from SNB, degree awarded in 2010), I moved to the University of strasbourg in France, where I worked on molecular spin-electronics, graphene spintronics. With my focus on graphene spintronics, I moved to Chalmers University of Technology in late 2012, where I worked on graphene spintronics and spintronics using other two dimensional crystals with semiconducting, insulating and topological insulator nature. I have joined Uppsala University in June 2015 to work on the area of 'advanced nanodevice physics'. My research interests are outlined above.
