Anna-Karin Stockenstrand is associate professor (docent) at the Department of Business Studies. She received her Ph.D. from the Stockholm School of Economics in 2009. Her research concerns financial regulation and supervision, and the effects of global regulation on management control systems and strategies in Swedish financial institutions. She has been awarded the Hans Dalborg scholarship for Research in Banking and Finance and received funding from the Swedish Research Council and Handelsbankens forskningsstiftelser. She is co-founder of an interdisciplinary network for Swedish researchers in financial regulation and supervision.
Currently she works part time as Manager, Financial Risk Management at KPMG Sweden, and part time at the Department of Business Studies at Uppsala University.
Anna-Karin teaches within the area of management control and financial accounting at all levels and is author of a number of textbooks in accounting. Before coming to Uppsala University, she worked at the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen), mainly focusing on disclosure requirements and reporting of financial assets in large Swedish banks. During the fall of 2015 she was a visiting researcher at the Department of Accounting and Finance at Manchester Business School, and during the fall of 2016 she is a visiting researcher at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg.
