Information librarian at Uppsala University Library which consists not only of Carolina Rediviva but also subject libraries near the departments they serve. Carolina Rediviva houses one of our twelve subject libraries as well as our cultural heritage collections consisting of early imprints, manuscripts and music, maps and pictures. In addition we have Photographic Services and Publishing and Grafic Services as well as the library's administration
Biography
Born and brought up in England with roots that pull me back periodically. After university in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, I taught English as a foreign language in London, Germany, France and Sweden. I retrained as a librarian in Borås at the beginning of the 1980s and have followed the amazing development of librarianship from card catalogues to dealing with today's megaflow of information that is stored in different ways and in different places.
Before I began working at Uppsala University Library, I taught Library and Information Science at the Department of ALM. Before that I was the first librarian at International IDEA in Stockholm. My first two decades in Sweden were spent working at Sida in Västerås, Stockholm and Uppsala.
As an English speaking librarian I maintain the electronic publicationen Library Terms in Swedish and English.
